Pak-Sino-Indian trilateral relations and the us.Aamnaa Yousaf Khokhar


Last weak could be dubbed as one of the most important periods in the political developments of three regional states, two of which are economic giants while the third hegemonic- but more important-than the others in the changing security and strategic situation of the world. Wen Jiabao, the Chinese Prime minister, paid’Histogic’ visits to Pakistan and India, while president Obama and his team conducted the review of the United States Afpak policy. China, Pakistan and India are locked in a trilateral relationship. Where China and Pakistan repeatedly describe their exemplary friendship as higher than the Himalayas as and deeper than the ocean, India and China remain locked in mutual mistrust and suspicion. However, if the two emerging economic powers get combined, they will become world’s largest economy within the next 20-25 years. The political development was most interesting, as on one end, regional players were seen sorting out their bilateral politics, and on the other, eyes were kept on developments taking place in Washington. Unfortunately, Richard Holbrook- president Barack Obama’s Afpak tsar- passed away, leaving behind an incomplete mission to resolve the conflict of the century.
